My “Hello World” Post

I am a developer from Melbourne, FL. I am always making an effort to continuously learn and improve coding. Currently teaching myself asp.net core mvc.
My name is Mike Williams. I have been interested in programming since I was a sophomore in high school. My programming journey began with a Commodore 64, and their BASIC coding language. My serious coding journey began in high school, in the COBOL language, where I had won a state competition in. After a 5-year break from programming, due to a US Navy enlistment “vacation”, my college years consisted of learning Turbo PASCAL and C. After dropping from college due to life issues, I went to a technical school, which I received an Associates in Electronics Engineering. After graduating, I was hired with Nokia Mobile phones as a repair technician, which involved a move to the sunny Space Coast of Florida. After working about 4 years with Nokia, I was about to be laid off. Before getting laid off, I got hired with NoLand Engineering, a small marine electronics company, as an electronics technician. However, because I had a background in programming, I began working on software development in C#, which I began to fall in love with. So began my self-teaching journey into the world of C#, dot Net, and Visual Studio.
My blog, I hope, will show some of my learning processes and fundamentals that I learn and continue to learn on my journey. I will use some of my development processes that I use for helping me to teach myself, such as videos, blog posts, tutorials, and any other relevant materials.
Why am I doing this blog? Being a solo developer, and self-taught, has had some challenges along the way. I am hoping my posts will help to guide someone else in their self-taught journey.
